Sport is one of the many activities that children do as part of growing up. Many life long benefits from regular exercise have been well documented. Besides improving the physical well-being, there are many potential contributions of sport to the psychological development (e.g. improving self-confidence, fostering independence, enhancing coping abilities) and social development (e.g. teaching personal responsibility, fostering competitiveness) of the children. These strengths acquired from sport are the key elements that contemporary youngsters need to be equipped with in this competitive world. Of course, family’s participation plays a crucial role in leading children to have a positive altitude towards sport.

Taekwondo is wonderful sport for me and our son Alvin. It offers opportunities for Alvin to develop his physical fitness. In addition, with his years of participation in this martial art, I can also observe the gradual cultivation of tolerance, courage and respect in Alvin’s growth.
